The genesis<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t

1.<\/h3>\nWhen Nicolas, my eldest brother, and Marie-Agn\u00e8s, his wife, left the Pas de Calais in 1995 to settle in Couddes in the Loir et Cher, I never imagined that one day we’d settle there too. But with their departure, part of our roots took root there. Roots can be tenacious.\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
\n\t\t\t\t
\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t

2.<\/h3>\nOur professional lives didn’t allow us to see each other very often. But every time we visited, we felt at home. Life on the farm reminded Laetitia and me of our childhoods. The tears that flowed from our boys’ eyes at departure time watered those roots that, without us realizing it, were probably growing within us.\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
\n\t\t\t\t
\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t

3.<\/h3>\nMy second brother Luc also left the Pas de Calais for the Loiret, and finally my sister V\u00e9ronique settled in the Gers with her husband. As for us, after many years of soul-searching, we left the Hauts de France for Savoie. Lovers of the mountains, summer and winter alike, we migrated to Sainte Foy Tarentaise to take over a sports shop, Mountain Story, in Tignes.\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
\n\t\t\t\t
\n\t\t\t\t\t

The Loir-et-Cher became a strategic location for the family. Michel Delpech's song began to echo more and more in our HEAD.<\/h3>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t
\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t
\n\t\t\t\t\t

4.<\/h3>\nIt was against this backdrop that, during our stays in the Centre Val de Loire region, the idea of finding a house or a plot of land began to cross our minds. The specifications were simple, or so we thought, but restrictive: a ruin or a building plot in the middle of nature within a 10km radius of Nicolas’s home.\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
\n\t\t\t\t
\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t

5.<\/h3>

When our eldest son, Paul, moved to the region for professional reasons, we had one more reason to put extra pressure on Nicolas.
And when he called me, after years of searching, saying:
“I’ve found it!”<\/em>
We could hardly believe it.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t

6.<\/h3>

It was February, the height of the ski season. We couldn’t move. So we waited until May to come and discover the “jewel”. And the least we could say was that the jewel case covered the jewel! But the specifications were respected and the potential was real.

Au d\u00e9tour des Ch\u00e2teaux was born, or at least the idea was. There was just one more sweep to do before we could welcome our first visitors. It was May 2022, and we were due to open in Spring, 2025.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
